The “Miss Bettye Worcester” Endowment Fund
When Virginia Chance established Chance School in 1958, she could have barely imagined the profound impact it would have on those who would benefit from her progressive approach to education. Among those who believed in her mission was Bettye Worcester, who worked as a teacher and preschool advisor under the leadership of Virginia Chance. Upon the passing of “Ms. Bettye,” the Worcester family established the Ms. Bettye Endowment Fund to honor her love of children and as a commitment to learning for future generations.
As a result of this endowment, the school continues to make significant investments in the best teachers, resources and technology, and in maintaining and expanding the historic school setting to better serve students.
