Healthy Lifestyles

A healthy mind thrives in a healthy body. From snack time to lunchtime to celebrations, Chance focuses on good nutrition and food safety. Regular exercise is also important, so physical activity is a part of every school day.

  • Snack and Lunch: Snacks are served in class every day. Chance takes seriously its responsibility to make them nutritious and healthful, and, in view of food allergies, safe. Parents help provide healthy snacks. Students who stay at school for lunch bring nutritious meals from home.
  • Playtime/Recess: Children need to move, and Chance students do! Every day, children enjoy 30 minutes of recess playtime – outside when the weather allows and in the Funroom when it does not.
  • Movement and Learning: The importance of movement to learning and healthy lifestyles cannot be overstated. From improving judgment to reducing stress to teaching self-discipline and building peer relationships, active learning is an important component of the curriculum. And Chance School has the facilities and program to incorporate just that!
