Karen Linton

I have a Bachelors in Accounting from Bellarmine University. I started my accounting career while still in school at Bellarmine, working in their business office. I have always enjoyed working with numbers and working in the Business Office at Bellarmine while attending college, was a GREAT experience for me. I have over 37 years of continuous experience in private accounting within the Advertising, Hospital and Sports industries and more recently I worked for Papa Johns AR department, an Independent school’s business office and now at Virginia Chance School since 2014.

When working at another independent school in Louisville, I met Gerin Ballard, my predecessor here at Virginia Chance School, thru the Kentucky Association of Independent Schools Business Managers Group. We collaborated on several projects, and I was able to see through her experience what a wonderful place Chance School is. When she decided to retire, she contacted me to see if I might be interested in working at Virginia Chance School in the business office and also oversee operations and I was delighted to accept and meet the challenges and opportunities of a growing school.  

My husband Norm and I have been married for 35 years, and we have a screen-printing business that keeps us on our toes. When I’m not at Virginia Chance School, managing the daily operations of a historic site, I enjoy spending time with my nieces and nephews, being with family brings me so much joy and renewal. I also love seeing and getting to talk with the children here at Virginia Chance School; it lights up my days and always brings a smile to my face.
