Discover Our New Pavilions:
A Blend of Tradition and Innovation

Introducing our newly constructed outdoor pavilions, which are more than just beautiful additions to our school grounds. These structures embody a deep connection to the history and values of Virginia Chance School. Designed with a nod to the past and a vision for the future, our pavilions stand as a testament to the school's enduring commitment to nurturing a love for the outdoors and learning among our students.

Enhancing Outdoor Learning

Our pavilions are equipped with modern amenities that extend the possibilities for outdoor learning, ensuring that students can enjoy the benefits of nature without the usual limitations:

Bathrooms: With the inclusion of bathroom facilities, the pavilions support longer outdoor sessions, allowing students and teachers to engage more deeply with their environment without the need for frequent indoor breaks.

Covered Gathering & Learning Areas: The pavilions include a thoughtfully designed covered gathering area, providing shelter and convenience for parents and students during drop-off and pick-up times. This feature enhances the overall functionality of the school grounds and extends learning opportunities, ensuring a seamless and comfortable experience regardless of weather conditions.

Spacious Gathering Area: The largest pavilion provides an expansive educational space, perfect for holding classes and workshops outdoors. Additionally, this pavilion acts as a unique gathering area for school events, accommodating larger groups while letting students, teachers, and families enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings.

Architectural Features

Cedar Shake Roof: The Houston Pavilion roof is crafted from cedar shakes, a classic material with a rustic charm reminiscent of traditional architecture. This choice complements the natural surroundings and honors the enduring craftsmanship that has been a hallmark of historic buildings on our Campus.

Metal Roof: The FourEvergreen Pavilion & The Trager Pavilion feature a metal roof. It combines durability with a sleek, modern aesthetic that aligns with our vision for innovative educational spaces. In the future, the FourEvergreen Pavilion will have solar panels installed to power its amenities as a nod to our future and our environmental focus.

Stone Surrounds: Elegant stone surrounds encircle each pavilion, providing a sense of permanence and strength. This design element is a tribute to the school's historic foundation and steadfast commitment to providing a solid educational experience.

We are grateful to everyone who contributed to this project, and we can't wait to share this milestone with you.
