Victor Fernandes

Director of Finance

Victor Fernandes comes to us from the sunny beach towns of San Rafael, California, until he was eight, and later Deerfield Beach, Florida. He considers himself a Florida native and loves coastal country music, such as Kenny Chesney and Jimmy Buffet. With Kentucky becoming his home in 2017, he has adopted the University of Louisville Cardinals as his local sports team. His wife Christina is a long-time Louisville resident and Cardinals fan.

His education pedigree includes an Undergraduate Business Bachelor’s Degree from Palm Beach State College and an MBA Graduate Degree from Florida International University. He graduated from the FIU Chapman Graduate School of Business with distinction in 2015, finishing in the top 10% of his class with a 3.99 GPA. He was indeed upset about being .01 GPA short of a 4.0 GPA. Go, Golden Panthers!

Victor brings two decades of accounting and finance experience spanning several industries, from his beginning working for a heavy equipment distributor as a Bookkeeper to an accountant for a Fortune 100 Company to helping his parents franchise pizza business. Prior to Virginia Chance, Victor worked as a Special Projects Accountant for one of the largest affordable housing developers in the country, managing $1.2B+ in assets.

He has a wife, Christina, and daughter, Sage who love Disney World, and trips to Florida beaches. They also enjoy kayaking and gardening together. The Fernandes family also has a Shorkie (Shih Tzu and Yorkshire Terrier), named Bruce Wayne who loves to herd people. Halloween might just be their favorite “holiday” of the year.

Victor Fernandes serves as Director of Finance & Accounting at Virginia Chance School and deeply appreciates the education philosophy since being enrolled in Montessori education as a child. He also loves the Nature-based foundation the school embraces and looks forward to serving the students, parents, and colleagues.
